2011 Roundup a huge success
Despite the devastating floods affecting many States, 145 participants and their parents travelled to Angus Youths major annual event this year held in Glen Innes.
Led by the Angus Youth National Roundup Committee, Roundup Coordinator Jason Siddell and Jo Milward from the Angus Society of Australia, the 4 day event was attended by young beef cattle enthusiasts aged 8 to 25 years.
The guest speakers including breeders and industry representatives imparted their knowledge in a series of workshops throughout the duration of the event.
Cattle were brought from many parts of Australia to ensure all participants had an animal to work with during the Roundup with a fine display of animals being exhibited.
The annual Roundup Special Dinner Dance was held on Saturday night at the Glen Innes RSL Club and approximately 300 adults and children enjoyed a night of good food, charity auctions and music.
The Glen Innes Showground Trust Ladies Auxiliary kept all of the attendees well fed and watered with the facilities on the Showground second to none.
The Angus Youth Roundup is held in a different town each year. “It will be hard to top Glen Innes” said Peter Parnell, the Chief Executive Officer for the Angus Society.
