
Ten Angus Youth members and one New Zealander descended on the Angus Australia head office for the annual Angus Youth leadership clinic, held in February. After introductions where over, the attendees got down to the business of the leadership clinic.
The Angus Youth Management Committee met formally for the first time in 2008 and voted on committee positions and decided the 2009 Roundup location. The leadership clinic also provided an opportunity for the 2008 Landmark ambassadors to get a feel for what there role would entail for the year as well as planning of their activities and being provided with an industry mentor.
The program also included interactive sessions and guest speakers. This included Jason Siddell, 2007 United Kingdom scholar, Robyn Jackson, former Guyra council Mayor, Airlie Bell, Careers Counsellor, UNE, and Diana McLeish, CEO, Murray Grey Society.
The attendees also' bonded' in the team activities of laser tag. With team mates needing to work together to win the challengers, while trying not to ‘die'.
The attendees also visited ‘Branga Plains', Walcha, operated by Guy Lord. The ‘Branga Plains' operation involved a four way terminal cross, which where sold directly to a butcher's chain in Sydney . This successful commercial operation, was beneficial to our future industry leaders.
The attendees also planned out the Angus Youth programs for 2008 through critical reviews and discussion as well as individual program plans.
