Each year Angus Youth run a National Judging Competition, with the winner being awarded the University of Illinois scholarship.
The winner of this prestigious competition receives a return airfare to the USA to study animal and meat science at the University of Illinois for a semester. They also have the opportunity to participate in the intercollegiate meat or livestock judging competitions. $2000 is also provided to put towards accommodation/domestic travel.

How do I enter?
To participate in the Angus Youth National Judging Competition you need to be nominated by your State Angus Committee. Each state may nominate up to two finalists and two reserves in case the other states are unable to fill their entitlements. In NSW, VIC, SA, WA, and QLD these nominations are based on a state level judging competition.

If you have any queries please contact Angus Youth on 02 6773 4608 or email .
To be eligible to participate in the National Judging Competition final, individuals must be 21-30 when the University of Illinois scholarship is taken up. The scholarship must be taken up within 12 months of winning, where "take-up" is defined as depart. You also need to be an Angus Australia member.
If you are not from one of the above states. or are unsure about how to be nominated, but are eligible to participate, contact the Angus Youth Coordinator to express your interest. If feasible, you should try and attend one of the above schools as the experience will be a big help when you are competing in the National Judging Competition.
