Young paraders will again be in the spotlight at Sydney Royal when Angus Youth members leading Angus in any of the steer or open cattle sections will be assessed by ringside judges.
Nominations, which are free, are required and each competitor will wear an arm band with a number. Nominations can be made now with the Angus Youth coordinator Jim Klarner on 02 6773 4608 or 0429 917 556 or up to half an hour prior to the start of each judging section at the Angus Youth stand at the Sydney showgrounds with Angus Youth members Kate Boardman on 0423 528 539 or Sam Martin 0430 170 024. Competitors must be Angus Youth members and can join as they nominate, even half an hour prior to the section at the show.
The school steers are judged at Sydney on Wednesday April 15, the open steers on Thursday April 16 and the Angus on Saturday April 18.

Twenty-seven Angus Youth members competed in the special paraders’ competition with the opportunity to display their skills in four sections at Sydney Royal, the Angus steers, school steers, open steers and Angus stud classes.
The contestants were Frances Van Zuilekom, Christine Pointing, Shannon Lawler, Matthew Cheetham, Tahnee Manton, Nicholas Hunt, Christie Fuller, Nicole Pisano, Jonathon Murdoch, Nick Hovey, Eliza Newcombe, Edward Hordern, Gordon Branson, Diana Branson, Rachel Wheeler, Fallon Wheeler, Jessica Alexander, Chad Williamson, Lachlan Collins, Kate Boardman, Patrick Mckey, Vanessa Chadman, Jess Grace, Letitia Salzke, Samantha Atkinson, Tyson Will and Keira Turnbull.

The winner was Tahnee Manton, Inverell, NSW with reserve place Letita Salzke from Henty, NSW.
Special mentions, in no specific order, went to Frances Van Zuilecon (she was a runner up in this year’s Norman Lethbridge Award), Christie Fuller, Eliza Newcombe and Keira Turnbull.
