Four national Landmark Angus Youth Ambassadors are chosen each year from Angus Australia members aged between 16-25 years (at January 1 of that year) who attend the annual Landfall Angus Youth National Roundup.

Angus Youth Ambassadors are awarded an Ambassador jacket and shirt, complimentary Angus Youth membership for one year and an Angus Youth polo shirt and cap.

They also attend the national Angus Youth Leadership Clinic with the National Angus Youth Management Committee in February, and are special guests at the National Angus Expo Show and Sale in March.

The Australian Beef Industry Foundation (ABIF) also awards each ambassador $500 to put towards their self development in the beef industry. Applications need to include a proposal, with preference being given to courses that are nationally accredited or beef industry recognised.

The Ambassador role includes:

  • Taking an active role in the state Angus Youth Committee.
  • Being an Angus Ambassador in their state as requested by the state and regional committees (for example, assisting with the manning of a breed promotional display, awarding prizes etc).
  • Assisting with the planning and conduct of the National Angus Youth program.
  • Giving a talk on the Angus Youth program at a school or college with an agriculture program.

The Landmark Angus Youth Ambassador program presents young people with many opportunities to both learn and have fun.

At the end of the year, ambassadors are invited to submit an application to the Landmark Ambassador Selection Committee to continue as an ambassador for a second year. Two people are selected to continue as ambassadors. Their selection is based on their contribution to the Angus Youth Program throughout the year and on how they propose contributing in the following year.
