The University of Illinois Scholarship

The Univesity of Illinois Scholarship is awarded to the winner of the National Judging Competition

Since the scholarships incepetion in 1980, 29 young people have had the opporunity to travel to the University of Illinois and study livestock assessment and have returned to become respected and successful members of the Australian beef industry.
The scholarship provides a return trip to the US to study at the highly estemed University of Illinois for a semester plus $2000 towards travel expenses.

To participate in the Angus Youth National Judging Competition you need to be nominated by your State Angus Committee. Each state may nominate up to two finalists and two reserves in case the other states are unable to fill their entitlements. In NSW, WA, VIC and SA these nominations are based on a state level judging competition held during cattle assessment schools.

To take up the overseas trip you need to be an Angus Australia member aged 21-30. State committees are requested to nominate individuals that are eligible to take up the scholarship within twelve months of winning.

Tertiary education is not a requirement.
