Following the success of the 2005 Young Beef Producers Forum, a second
forum will be staged again in Roma, QLD, on Thursday the 16th & Friday
the 17th of November this year.
Last year’s forum attracted 86 young participants from not only
cattle enterprises, but also a wide range of people from companies servicing
the beef industry.
This year’s forum will follow a similar theme to that of last year,
however, reinvention of topics, fresh ideas and new developments will
be incorporated, to ensure the continued success
of the Forum, and allow participants to once again receive value for money.
Once again, participants will have the great opportunity of listening
to a group of high profile speakers presenting seminars on worthwhile
areas including production/marketing, business,
family communication and health, and policy issues & legislation affecting
the Australian beef.
This event is an invaluable opportunity for you, as an Angus Youth member
to broaden your horizons, expand your knowledge and meet new people. The
Roma Cup will be held on Saturday 18th November, so stay an extra day
for a great time at the races!
Be watching out for more details in the next Angus Youth newsletter! If
you want to know more about this great event, or anything else related
to QLD Angus Youth, please contact me.
2005
Queensland Angus Youth is alive and well with a great support network
to keep young cattle enthusiasts progessing. This year Queensland’s
Angus Youth ambassador Jack Moore of ‘Grassmere’, Mitchell,
has been making the rounds to several schools and colleges promoting what
Angus Youth has to offer.
Jack was also the recipient of the New England Travel New Zealand Exchange
Scholarship and will make his way to New Zealand in October and November.
The Young Beef Breeders Information Day (YBBID) will head north this year
to Roma in November. Conducted over two days, the event aims to be very
market-orientated at all sectors of the supply chain and will also cover
succession planning.
